Çavuş Nekropol - Cemetary

In Seydişehir, in addition to the nationally renowned ancient cities of Vasada and Amblada, there is another ancient site at least as important. This is the Sekiyurt Necropolis and Church, located on land immediately above the settlement of Çavuş, located 70 kilometers along the Konya-Seydişehir highway. Sekiyurt is a significant ancient ruin in the Konya region, shedding light on the Roman Period. Research conducted here indicates that the Sekiyurt site, which served as the necropolis of the Çakılören settlement in the Late Roman Period, was terraced and leveled during the Byzantine Period, and a church and associated outbuildings were built, ultimately serving as a religious center. A necropolis dating to the Late Roman Period, formed by the processing of igneous natural rocks, colloquially known as "por," is located here.
